About the directors
Dr Lloyd Humphreys B.Sc. (Hons.), M.Phil., D.Clin.Psy., C.Psychol.
Dr Jonathan Ward B.A. (Hons.), M.Sc., Clin.Psy.D.
Dr Lloyd Humphreys completed an undergraduate degree in psychology before working in an academic department of clinical psychology, where he conducted clinical research. Following an undergraduate degree in economics, Dr Jonathan Ward worked as a market analyst for a leading international business information service. They both went on to attain postgraduate degrees in psychology before completing doctoral training programmes in clinical psychology at the Universities of Lancaster and Manchester respectively. Following qualification, they worked initially as clinical psychologists in the primary care services of an NHS mental health trust.
They have been closely involved with large-scale research investigations in a range of different areas, including psychosis, dual diagnosis, post-traumatic stress disorder and the psychological impact of physical illness. They have published numerous peer-reviewed journal articles (click here for details) and some of these, such as the evaluations of the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions in psychosis and post-traumatic stress disorder, have been cited in guidelines produced by the National Institute for Clinical Excellence and the National Institute for Mental Health in England, and referenced by the Cochrane Library. They have also presented at national and international conferences, including the conference of the European Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Therapies.
